The Rockies

THE  ROCKIES

Take me back to the Rockies

Out under Western skies;

Amid the beauty of open space

Of towering peaks, and sighs

Of winds through empty canyons

Where the lonely eagle flies.

Soaring, sailing, riding the wind

Majestic in the sky,

The great spread of his golden wings

Against the blue on high.

Take me back to the Rockies,

Take me home again.

Take me back where my heart is free,

Like the eagle on the wind.

A Single Man

A SINGLE MAN

A single man?  Oh dear, oh dear
This simply will not do
Come along with us dear man,
Let us take care of you.

Meet my sister, meet my cousin,
Meet my widowed mother too.
Just place yourself in our hands
take good care of you.

Meet the blossom, meet the bud,
Meet the fading summer rose,
It doesn't matter which, dear man
Pick any one of those.

Come to dinner or a social
Or a good old Bar-B-Q
Come along with us, dear man,
We'll make fast work of you.

Among the Clouds

***************************
AMONG THE CLOUDS

Among the clouds of Heaven
A tiny angel laughed and played
Then came to rest at the knee of God
At the closing of the day

God gently smiled and reached his hand
To bless this nodding head,
Then carried this tiny angel
Off to a cloudy bed.
